| Abstract: | The focus of this investigation is how identity comes about and how it was fostered in mutual outside of Buenos Aires; in particular I am going to focus on their newspapers El Colmenar and La Posta. The newspaper El Colmenar was published from August 1991 until January 1995. The newspaper La Posta was first published in June 2004 and the latest issue was published in January 2006. The main question I seek to address is, who is embraced by the concept of us and who by them. I want to understand who is included in these identities. Over the course of the time of publishing of the two newspapers I am interested on how these identities change. Who is for example embraced in the identity of us in a certain situation and not included in another. The question will be how the producers of the newspapers used these identities to pursue their goals. In order to focus on this question it has to be asked how is it justified that certain groups are included or excluded from one of the identities. In order to create these identity frames or identities the producers of frames make use of so called cultural resources. The cultural resources is in general the shared culturally and historically dependent understanding of a situation, which is used in order to reason frames. |
