Abstract:

Analyzing projects from the National Fund of Technology (FONTEC), one of the most important programs to finance private R&D in Chile, this paper brings new empirical information about interactions between the Chilean Government and the private sector to promote technology innovation in Chile. The main conclusions of this analysis show how companies developing technology projects can reach better results, measure by sales growth, if they establish partnerships during their technology development processes. Also it confirms that technology innovation projects related with natural resource industries show positive impacts in companies sales given the Chile's competitive advantages in these sectors. |
