Title: Father - Col. Ellsworth Was Shot Dead This Morning. I Killed His Murderer. Frank.
Description: A zouave kills another soldier with a bayonet while two other zouaves look on. Another zouave, most likely Ellsworth, lies dead on the ground. "Frank" probably refers to Corporal Francis E. Brownell who shot Ellsworth's killer, James W. Jackson. Ellsworth was killed after taking down a Confederate flag during the occupation of Alexandria, Virginia. Ellsworth was a close friend of Abraham Lincoln.
