Criteria for Judgement:
- Concept: The idea is well conceived as a visual presentation. It is interesting, entertaining, evocative and thought-provoking
- Concept: The idea makes sense. It is coherent, cohesive and structured
- Cinematography: The quality of the lighting and composition; appropriate use of camera angles and framing; effective use of portraiture where needed; technical factors of exposure, focus, camera steadiness; effective use of focal length and depth of field
- Editing: The pacing and shot length is appropriate. Rhythms are appropriate to action, mood, theme; continuity is smooth, montage well-designed; spatial continuity and relationships; screen direction handled effectively
- Sound: Well-recorded, cleanly edited; appropriate use of music and effects tracks; properly timed to visuals; good balance in mixed tracks; creative and evocative use of sound
- Performance: Appropriateness, including casting, characterization, believability of expression and movement
- Is this work of festival quality?
